The creator

Born on December 12, 1992, also her great-grandmother's birthday, Hermine Sacau became interested in precious family jewelry at a very young age. Try on, wash, put away, the jewelry box conceals treasures and quickly becomes a premonitory playground.

After digital training, Hermine turned to gemmology and trained at the National Institute of Gemmology in Paris, to learn everything about the gems that will make up her future creations.

Thanks to her meeting with passionate workshops, Douze Paris was born on June 31, 2017. The designer reveals suave and delicate jewelry, in recycled 18-carat gold, to revive the circular and transmissible philosophy of jewelry.

At the heart of her inspirations are women and their movements, the possibility of living unhindered but preciously, and the infinite play of colors that the earth offers us.

PHILOSOPHY

A promise of femininity: “twelve” rather than gentle

When you look at it closely, you notice that nothing is in order, but everything is in its place. The twelve woman likes beautiful things, those that are soft and last over time. Jewelry worn on the skin, that which we like to wear for ourselves, a daily adornment that we hardly notice any more. We said almost. Because the woman in twelve likes to be noticed up close. The desire aroused by the delicacy of a chain ring, the balance of stones, the discreet accumulation of earrings. Asymmetrical, sometimes, the tangled jewelry box, often, and that's so much the better. Twelve and twelve: time is resolutely feminine. Noble, mischievous and stubborn. Twelve and twelve: we move forward, casually and at all costs. The world has tough skin, twelve women have it too. We persist and we sign. »

The difference between Twelve: it’s all in the z
“Z in three traits: righteousness, gentleness, madness. A joyful stubbornness in not following the beaten path. The transformation of a revolt: that of homogenization, of standardization. And draw the possibility of a house, with a small m, dedicated to women. Attention paid to each: the power of gentleness. »

Everyday jewelry : at Douze, there is no logo, no distinctive commercial sign. At most, we identify a certain recognizable movement. Simple, light, timeless creations that can be worn in any way you want.

The stones in the center: this is the strength of Twelve. Innovate, create from stones unearthed along the way, and offer its customers unique pieces, from Hermine's latest finds.

Custom-made : this is the heart of Douze. Attention to the person, on demand, a creative ethic: the fruit of an encounter. Interiority rather than status. The heart and the body. »

“Power of gentleness” : If gentleness were a gesture, it would be a caress. At Douze, we like softness: an intimate showroom, by appointment, dedicated customer service. Calm and attention.

The value chain : a network of artisans and partners. Honesty and transparency on sourcing and manufacturing. No miracle announced, but a constant commitment.

The mission of Douze Paris: to take the drama out of jewelry
De-dramatize: remove from something its dramatic character.

For Douze Paris, it's about getting away from the drama, from the play. Make it accessible, remove fears. The fear of entering a jewelry store, the fear of treating yourself to a precious object, the fear of ceremony, of feeling intimidated, even rejected.

The invitation to join a new story: that of a jewelry store in its own right, one that offers women the possibility of feeling beautiful, valued, of offering and treating themselves to an exceptional object

COMMITMENTS

From its beginnings, Douze Paris has chosen to only market products that respect ethical rules, whether it concerns the origin of materials and stones, or the method of manufacturing and consumption. Made from 18-carat recycled gold, we only source from foundries or workshops with the RJC (Responsible Jewelery Council)-COC (RJC Chain of Traceability standard) label (more information here ) in order to control the traceability of the metals. Douze Paris jewelry is made by French and international workshops also working for major houses. We thus favor a short circuit and try to reduce as much as possible the carbon footprint that distant transport would entail.

However, due to the specificity of certain products or the area of expertise necessary for their creation, some of our creations are produced abroad (in Thailand and India precisely.) These branches also hold the RJC label , which guarantee responsible working methods and conditions. Each creation concerned presents a mention in its product sheet. The tailor-made and transformation products are entirely handmade in Paris, by our partner artisans. Our diamonds only come from countries that are members of the international certification regime known as the Kimberley Process*. The aim of this agreement is to end the trade in “conflict diamonds” and to ensure that the diamond trade does not finance the activities of violent rebel movements. * www.kimberleyprocess.com

Finally, we decided to produce the vast majority of our creations on demand. We thus avoid overstock and hope to re-establish slower and more thoughtful consumption. Buying sustainably and marveling forever has become our mission.
